Ensure that all the necessary clearances from the Construction team are obtained before starting the work.
Check that the shop drawings and material submittals are approved and verify that the materials are approved by the Engineer.
Check that pipes are brought pre-packed in widespread quantities
Inspect the pipes saved on a reasonably flat surface free from massive stones or sharp projections.
Loading and unloading of pipes should be achieved by using hand and using skids need to be averted
Pipes have to no longer be dragged along a tough surface.
Extra care should be exercised in handling pipes to avoid damage.
Check work area is clean and safe to proceed with the installation & testing works.

WORK METHODOLOGY & SEQUENCE OF WORK

Installation of underground drainage pipe
Installation of the above drainage pipe
Gravity Test for the drainage pipe.

INSTALLATION OF UNDERGROUND DRAINAGE PIPE

Before Installation, underground drainage pipes and fittings shall be examined carefully for faults.
Before laying the pipe, cut it exactly to a length as per the drawing, de-burr the edges, and clean the ends.
Position the pipe in the excavated trench at the given/required level as per the approved construction drawing and verify it with levelling instrument.
Before the installation, lubricate/grease the pipes and fittings with recommended and approved lubricants which are to be jointed.
After lubricating, the pipe's end, apply the approved solvent cement on the contacting surfaces of both pipes and fittings to be joined.
Pipes are to be pushed to full socket depth, withdrawal pipe 5mm on the waste system and 10mm on the soil system to allow for expansion. Now repeat the same procedure & methodology for the full/entire length of the pipe run.
On completion of each pipe section, check and adjust if necessary to ensure the proper level and alignment of the pipe.
After the final touch of a segment of pipework flush the pipe with smooth water and install short caps to any open ends before leaving the worksite.
Attach and connect the identity labels, safety, and caution symptoms on the locations as stated within the authorised fabric submittal and as required by way of the standards and specs.
After the complete installation of the waste, soil, and rainwater below-ground piping system, a preliminary inspection of the whole system will be conducted.
Backfill the trench with gravel except for all joints, those will remain open until to complete the gravity test to confirm the absence of leakage within the system.
A final inspection for installation will be done in coordination with the Consultant before starting the gravity test.

INSTALLATION OF ABOVE-GROUND DRAINAGE PIPE

Before Installation, all pipes and fittings shall be checked and examined for all defects and or faults.
Mark out the location of the pipe support and hangers as per the approved construction drawing.
Drill the marked position of hangers and supports by using the drill of the appropriate size.
Fix the stud anchor at the drilled position, and install the threaded rod to hang the supports and hangers for above-ground drainage pipes.
Before fixing, ensure that the pipe is cut exactly to the length shown in the approved drawings. Deburr the pipe edges and smooth the ends.
Position the pipe in supports, check for correct level and location, and if necessary, make adjustments on the pipe supports.
Place the expansion joint of approved quality and size in between the pipes at the correct level and alignment
Ensure the perfect space among the pipes and growth joint is furnished. Repeat this procedure for the entire length of the pipe run.
Anchor fittings with a socket bracket to keep enlargement allowance.
On the final touch of every pipe phase, check and adjust if important to make sure the proper alignment and stage of pipes.
Install the sleeves at their marked function after making sure their size & appropriate bodily situations.
Seal all openings with expansion test plugs, these test plugs will also be used to avoid the doorway of any overseas materials in the pipes.
Protect the above-ground drainage pipe work from any possible mechanical damage, and maintain the protected covering until the leak test.
After the complete installation of the waste, soil, and rainwater above-ground piping system, a preliminary inspection of the whole system will be conducted.
Attach and connect the identity labels, safety, and caution signs at the locations as referred to inside the authorized fabric submittal and as required by the requirements and specs.
