3. Survey And Setting Out.

  1. Appointment of license Surveyor. 
  2. Verification by the Survey Officer/Survey Officer’s representative on the survey done by a licensed surveyor.
  3. Upon completion of the 1st KM of the boundary survey, the site clearing activities will proceed. 

4. Site Clearing 

  1. Mobilization of the Machinery(s) and equipment(s).
  2. Upon the completion of the 1st KM boundary survey by the Licence surveyor, the site clearing shall start.
  3. All clearing shall be done within the site boundary.
  4. Before clearing any chainage of the road, the Construction Manager or contractor Representative shall identify if there is any existing crops or structure within the area that require the attention of the Survey Officer / Survey Officer’s representative on. If there is any, Contractor representatives shall inform the S Survey Officer/Survey Officer’s representative for verification. Photo of evidence shall be properly taken and the area affected shall be defined clearly. 
  5. All debris from the clearing activities shall be properly disposed of within the project site. If there is any debris need to be disposed of beyond the site boundary, the contractor shall abide by the local authorities rules and regulations.
  6. No debris Shall be dumped within the filling area designated for the permanent road.
  7. No burning shall be allowed as a method of disposing of all the debris.
  8. The Construction Manager or Contractors’ Representative shall notify the Survey Officer / Survey Officer’s representative of the location of the
  9. dumping site to suit the site condition.

5. Earthwork-Cutting & Slope Formation Work Activities.

  1. Cutting work/activities/tasks shall be carried out and accomplished as highlighted in the construction/shop drawings. 
  2. Before cut and fill activities, all under layout and shop drawings areas topsoil shall be scrubbed and stockpiled appropriately and safely for its later utilization (if mandatory) at the pre-designated stockyard places which will be jointly identified at the site by the construction Manager/Contractor representatives. and Survey Officer/Survey Officer’ representative on.
  3. Before cutting, the soil sample shall be tested for its suitability as fill material for the fill area. If the material is suitable, it shall be a stockpile at the designated area which will be identified at the site by the Construction Manager if the filling activities have not yet proceeded or otherwise.
  4. All the unsuitable material from the cutting area shall be disposed of according to the site boundary.
  5. Proper and safe arrangements and temporary access control for existing traffic shall be provided as and when required essentially.
  6. If the temporary access is provided, there shall be enough detour signboard, AWAS sign, “CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS” sign and any other safety precaution signboard shall be erected to prevent any danger to the user.
  7. During working hours traffic officer (s) shall be assigned to control the flow of traffic in the affected area.
  8. Temporary drainage shall be provided along with the construction site (if necessary) to drain out the surface water. 
  9. All temporary drains shall be discharged to the nearest stream/river / nearby drain. All discharge outlets shall be provided with a silt trap before it is a channel to the stream/river / nearby drain.
  10. A joint inspection shall be conducted to verify the work done.

6. Earthwork-Filling/Embankment Activities.

  1. Before filling activities or embankment activities, all the material that is going to be used as filling or embankment material shall be tested for suitability. Marking peg for filling or embankment layer thickness shall be established.
  2. After setting out of the fill or embankment area, the filling or embankment activities shall be started. The filling activities shall be done in the layer. Each layer shall be properly compacted and tested before the subsequence layer is laid.
  3. The process shall be repeated until it reaches the proposed finish platform level as per construction drawings.
  4. All filling shall conform to the approved construction drawings
