METHOD STATEMENT-PARKING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Purpose

The aim of this Method Statement (MST) is to explain the details used and controls to accomplish the installation of the Parking Management System (PMS) to make sure that it complies with Project requirements, specifications, and standards.

Installation Procedures

Aluminum Channeling (Canalize/Trunking)

The Aluminium Channeling (AC) is the Parking Management System's (PMC) installation basic containment and is to be installed as per the approved shop drawings.

This element has two basic functions:

A- It's used as the subjection of the various devices that are distributed by each one of the Parking Floors (PF).

These devices are:

  • Sensors
  • Pilots
  • Passing Counters
  • Zone Concentrators

B-It's used to carry the different kinds of cables, needed for the system operation.
The different types of cables that can be found in the Aluminium Channelings (AC) are as below:

  1. Signal and powering for Sensors.
  2. Powering Circuit (PC) for each one of the Floor Zones (FZ).
  3. Powering Circuit (PC) for the Zone Boards (ZB) and Passing Counters (PC).
  4. Wiring/Networking among Sensor and Pilot (RJ11 telephone cable).
  5. Wiring among the two Sensors.
  6. Ethernet electrical cable in the Floor Segment (connection among the Zone Concentrator and Zone Boards and Passing Counters to the Floor Concentrator).
  7. Part of the link-up of Ethernet Cables (EC) that are connected among Floors.
  8. Signal cable of the Module Concentrators.

Step by Step installation Procedure is Explained as follows:

  • Firstly, an 8-millimeter drill in the ceiling is made, into which a Unifix for 6 millimeters Dia threaded rod is inserted.
  • To avoid damage/destruction to embedded rebars and conduits, a cover meter test will be used to locate and examine the depth of the rebars or conduits. 6-millimeter threaded rods are cut to the appropriate size and are screwed into the Unifix.
  • On the contrary side of the rod, a Polycarbonate Plier (PP ) is fixed to the rod using a washer and nuts.
  • These Polycarbonate Pliers have a guide form and Permit “to clip” on the Aluminium Channeling (AC) by pressing it onto the channeling.
  • This procedure is repeated every 1.2 meters along the Canalis’ route as shown on the shop drawings.
  • When spreading out the cable within the channeling, and after the relationship is completed, more pliers could be fixed onto the channeling to maintain wires inside the channeling.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as per project standards:
  • A safety hard helmet, Safety footwear, HV vest, Nose Mask, Ear protector, Gloves & Goggles will be used during this process.
  • Bases, Covers, and Other Polycarbonate Elements for Aluminium Channeling
  • This section explains the various/multiple elements, manufactured in V0 fireproof polycarbonate, that are used for supporting and protecting the various elements of the system, as well as the installation process for each one of them.

Bases

The bases are the elements used as housing the various kinds of equipment/devices on each one of the parking Floors (Sensors, Pilots, Passing Counters, and Zone Concentrators).

The Primary and fundamentally “clips” directly to the Aluminium channeling which is suspended from the parking ceiling (no screws for its subjection are needed). Once the base is “clipped”, the Corresponding Electronic Equipment (CEE) can be installed appropriately in the space available inside the base.

Covers

  • The bases are the elements used as housing the various kinds of equipment/devices on each one of the parking Floors as Sensors, Pilots, Passing Counters, and Zone Concentrators.
  • There are various and different types of covers, depending on the Electronic Equipment (EE) to be installed appropriately.
  • Pilot Cover: Its upper portion/part has a hemispheric shape and is manufactured with a semi-transparent material to improve and enhance the pilot LEDs' distance visibility.
  • Sensor Cover: It is black and with two holes in its surface. These holes allow the Sensor ultrasonic transmitters to send and receive the signals.
  • Zone Concentrator Cover: It is used to make the protection in the Zone Concentrators.
  • Lateral Covers: These are pieces used to protect and safeguard the sides of the covers described/explained previously, particularly at the end of the channeling. Their function is fundamentally decorative.
  • Other Polycarbonate Elements
  • In the PGS system, there are other elements manufactured in polycarbonate, used in the Aluminium Channeling Assembly (ACA).

To improve and enhance the functionality; its behavior in front of temperature changes, the union piece possesses a stop that inserts perfectly to the channeling and that offers a certain distance margin.

The different types of union pieces used are as below:

  • Straight Union (SU), which acts as a joint in between the two Consecutive Channel Lengths (CCL).
  • Union in T for installation of pilots and different joints.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements as per project standards:
  1. Safety Helmet, Safety steel toecap footwear,
  2. Reflector vest,
  3. Hand Gloves,
  4. Goggles,
  5. Full-body Safety Harness with double lanyards and snap hooks attached to the shock absorber will be used.
