Hazard Control Measures

  1. [Company/Organization Name] has a purchasing policy whereby work equipment is screened for its safety features before being purchased. When operating, and or functioning heavy machinery, plants, or vehicles less vibration and noise will be purchased and given priority or in preference to other pieces of work equipment.
  2. Any excessively noisy work might be undertaken by means of operatives on a process rotation foundation and activities
  3. If noise tiers reach 85dB (A) or above operatives will be informed of the risks to their hearing and furnished with ear defenders or earplugs and advised to put on them at some point during noisy sports.
  4. [Company/Organization Name] will make certain of their compliance through regular tracking.
  5. The wearing of hearing protection will be encouraged for those tasks that produce noise over 80dB (A).
  6. [Company/Organization Name] will respect any reasonable request to obviate the circumstances when there are grounds for complaint with regards to excessive noise being produced on-site.
  7. All operatives might be recommended to report any harm or defects of their PPE so one can be replaced immediately.
  8. When on-site our safety manager will carry out noise monitoring using a noise meter as required to verify noise levels being generated.
  9. Operatives will be informed that as a general rule if they need to raise their voice to talk to another person when standing 2 meters away, then the noise source is too loud and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used.
  10. Work is to be undertaken away from others and when this is not practical, a noise protection zone is to be established with signage displayed and hearing protection worn within the hearing protection zone.
  11. All plants will be fitted with noise suppressors and dampers where they are available and tools and plants will be serviced regularly to reduce the noise produced.
