Standard Hand Signals

Whoever is in charge of any crane or hoist operations using any crane or hoist must make sure that experienced, competent and Qualified signal personnel are assigned to work with the crane for as long as it's miles working within their vicinity of obligation and scope.

Crane Standards require that a signalperson be gift always each time:

  1. The crane is Secure, working safely and within a boom’s length of power lines.
  2. The operator can't see the burden block/hook and the weight at all times.
  3. The operational crane is being sponsored up or moved and the ready lifting crane operator cannot see all components of the crane and its meant route of the tour.

Signal Person Requirements

The signalperson assigned to the crane shall:

  1. Be positioned in full view of the experienced, skilled, and competent lifting crane operator and if using hand signals close enough for the signals to be seen clearly. The signalman or woman's role ought to deliver him/her a full view of the weight and system always without posing a threat of being struck by the crane and/or load or any other object.
  2. The signal person must be enough skilled, competent, experienced, responsible, and qualified with the crane and lifting operation.

Crane Operation Procedures

Crane operator practices:
