Protective Measures to Be Taken:

1. Vehicle worthiness is to be checked along with the brake, horn, and rear-view mirror.

2. All the materials should be kept inside the tractor safely (in layers) no overhanging will be allowed. A red flag is to be displayed at the back.

3. Special care should be taken during loading & unloading by constant supervision.

4. The material should be properly loaded considering its weight, dimensions, the capacity of the carrier, the centre of gravity of the load, clearance required for safety, etc.

5. Proper written down and approved procedures should be followed for loading and unloading of materials (Manually and mechanically) 

6. While transporting, the material should be stacked and lashed correctly and securely. 

7. Steel bars should be stacked properly and red caution or red lamp the nights should be displayed on the projected end.

8. Men should not sit near the load or over the load where there is a possibility of rolling or shifting due to the sudden application of the brake.

9. Necessary PPE like the helmet and safety belt shall be provided.

10. Workers shall be given a toolbox talk regarding safe material handling.

11. No other activity other than staging shall be carried out nearby.

12. Before starting the scaffolding erection, the surface on which it must be erected must be made free and level.

13. Once the surface is ready, sole plates must be kept. It can be a timber sleeper or steel plate. 

14. Sole plates should be long enough to hold at least two veridical pipes and should extend 600 millimeters beyond the vertical pipes. Sole plates may be avoided in case if the scaffold is erected on the firm ground like a concrete floor.

15. The working platform shall be sufficiently wide and provide a handrail of about 42-inch height with one top rail, mid rail, and a board of 4 inch high.

16. Necessary PPE like a safety helmet, safety belt, hand gloves etc., shall be provided. 

17. Ladders with a handrail should be provided to approach the working spot.

18. Safe working platforms and walkways with double mat width and handrails should be used along with a toe board. 

19. The landing mat should be tied to scaffolding and a safety net should be provided below the platform.

20. Competent workers should be allowed to work at height.

21. Use Crane as far as possible or A good quality manila rope of sufficient rope should be used to lift forms and reinforcement bars with a double knot tying device using a chain pulley block.

22. Visual checking of the rope should be done every day before the start of the job.

23. Chain pulley block should be tested before use and the safe lifting capacity should be mentioned over the blocks.

24. All ladders of a vertical height of more than 30 feet shall be provided with an intermediate landing with a guard rail, mid rail, and the board. 

25. Do not use a metal ladder close to life electric wiring or any operational piping like acid, gas, etc., which could be damaged.

46. The vibrator shall be properly earthed, and cable joints should be avoided.

47. The vibrating unit should be completely enclosed and the belt transmitting the power to the unit adequately guarded.

48. Electrically operated compact vibrators shall be enclosed and protected against overloads by suitable overload relays and shall be effectively earthed. 

49. Be sure that a sufficient length of cable is provided to the vibrator.
